Plumbspec completed the plumbing and drainage work for a large townhouse development on Cleat Street in Whitby, Wellington.

The development included 19 new homes, with each townhouse requiring plumbing for its kitchen, laundry, hot water cylinder and two bathrooms. With the same systems repeated across every home, the job needed good planning and a consistent standard from the first unit through to the last.

Our five-person team managed the plumbing and drainage work across the site, starting with the underground services and pipework before moving through the internal installation and final fit-off stages.

Working across a multi-unit development means every part of the job needs to stay aligned with the wider construction programme. Our team coordinated with the developer, builders and other trades to make sure pipe routes, drainage connections and fixture locations were ready at the right stages of the build.

The Wellington winter added another challenge, particularly during the outdoor and underground work. Despite the cold and wet conditions, the team kept the project moving and completed the full package to a high standard.

Once the internal pipework and drainage were in place, we completed the connections for the kitchens, laundries, bathrooms and hot water cylinders throughout the development. Each townhouse was then checked to make sure the plumbing and drainage systems were ready for handover.
